How to prolong the life of your display

How to prolong the life of your display

We can all do our part by recycling and buying more environmentally conscious products, but we need to do more. We need to reduce our consumption of raw materials and our contribution to greenhouse gases.

Asking to reduce your consumption may sound strange coming from a company in the printing industry, as we always want you to buy more. In fact, we pride ourselves on producing products that last and can be used time and time again.

But here are some tips on how you can make the most of your display and how you can make them last longer.

prolonging the lifespan of your marketing display

Think about your design

The design of your display should be simple. Try and avoid seasonal messages or messages with dates on that are only going to last a few weeks or months. Use the display to sign post to your website where users can find more information.

Alternatively, if your message does change frequently, then select a display that allows you to change the message yourself.

Choose a reconfigurable display

Think about the events you attend.  Will stand space vary based on the event you go to – this is more than likely the case.

Depending on your circumstances you may be able to buy a display that reconfigures depending on the space that you have available. Linkable pop up stands are a great example of display that allows you to build and reconfigure the shape or size of the stand based on the area you are working in.

Take care of your displays

Many displays are robust and tough enough to last. We’ve even thrown a roller banner out of a window before (yes really) and have still been able to use it! Just to state the obvious, we really do not recommend throwing your display around.

We do recommend that any removeable graphics are rolled and stored away in their cases where appropriate.

If you are dismantling a banner stand, never just let the graphic drop. Feed it back into the base gently and straight.

Keep it clean

All displays may get a bit tatty from time to time. If you have a busy event and something has spilt onto your graphic or black marks appear, simply wipe it down with warm soapy water.

If your display board is looking a bit dusty, vacuum the surface. Any marks can be wiped with a damp cloth.

Flags, tablecloths and fabric display graphics can be machine washed (30 degrees max) and ironed using a cool setting.

Repairing

Is there a slight bit of damage to your display? You may be able to repair it yourself.

These are usually simple fixes, and there are spare parts for some displays which we will be happy to provide you with.

Of course, please do call us if you have any queries with repairing your displays before it goes under the lights!
